Abstract

Like many countries, our country is exposed to various threats. Iran's security environment is shaped by the interaction or confrontation with domestic variables such as the governmental structure, the distribution of power, the political activities of groups and political organizations, Islamic values, norms, and external environmental necessities such as the issues of the Islamic world, the Palestinian issue, the presence of foreigners in the West Asia region and their support for opponents and counter-revolutionaries, Islamic resistance, global order or disorder, technology, and the arms race. It constantly faces both opportunities and threats. This research aims to provide a model for identifying armed security threats against the Islamic Republic of Iran (based on the intelligence authorities of the armed forces), with a statistical population including senior intelligence officials from the General Staff of the Armed Forces, IRGC, Army, Law Enforcement Forces, Air Force, Basij, and information protection organizations, using a comprehensive census method. Ultimately, a model for identifying armed security threats was developed consisting of four dimensions, fifteen components, and sixty-three indicators, which, by understanding and paying attention to them, can aid in predicting and preventing the occurrence of armed security threats at the appropriate time and in avoiding being caught off guard.
